Why is the delivering of our creations now such a source of stress? Do we as small traders not have enough to worry about with out adding this? A service which is actually outside of our control. We pay for the service. The service provider fails and we get our asses kicked.
Personally, I can’t be driving over the country to make sure my items reach their destination. My little business can’t afford a man with a van. I did ask my retired husband but he said no. Don’t tell him but I make him right; there is no money in it for him. A business van is an expense too far for me.
So that man (or woman) with the van who are employed by our chosen courier are just not delivering all the time. I am not taring everyone with the same brush. There are diligent workers going above and beyond to get the parcel to the recipient, but there are a few bad apples in the service.
The companies are not delivering. Parcels are lost in the system. Fine that happens on occasion. What is more frustrating when the proof of delivery is a photo but not of the correct door. Goods left in safe places that don’t exist or have not been specified. Most frustrating is the delivering of goods being caught on camera, when the person has sticky fingers and takes it away with them again.
How do we fight that? In my eyes unless the courier companies address this, its a loosing battle that will end more small businesses. To date I have been lucky but my items go through letter boxes. If that changes I can’t promise I will be here.
