Time is money. We are all told that. Everyone is in a hurry. Lets face it life is really busy. We all have so much going on that sometimes things get left to the last minute. I will hold my hands up: guilty as charged. Its that one thing on your list that keeps getting pushed to the bottom until suddenly you are; oh no I need that tomorrow. We have all been there. Unless I am able to stop off on my way home its an online order but do you get the best customer service with that option?

I am just one person creating these knitting items. I also work full time. With all the best intention in the world I can not knit quickly enough to pay all the bills. To do that I would need to knit so fast my needles would smoke. With my popular items I try and at least one of each in stock. You place an order and depending on when I get that order it will go out the following day. If I am at home the same day but then its out of my hands. I do not have a delivery driver poised outside my door ready to dash off to bring you your goodies. Nor do I have an army of Elves.

Unfortunately more often than not people ordering online from small businesses forget that we are not a big company. We can’t promise next day delivery if you order at 10pm. Honestly if you order from me at that time of night I am more than likely fast asleep (I have an early start). We do our best to get the item to you as quickly as we can. However we offer so much more. What you get is personal attention. We care about the customer. We want to give you the best customer service so you come back and recommend us. You want something personal, special, unique. We deliver that. You have a special requirement. If we can make it happen we will; but that takes a little more time.

So do we forgo that special treatment for speed of delivery? Maybe we need to be more organised. Get a gift that has been made with love not a mass produced item that has no personality and be prepared to wait an extra few days for it. I bet the person receiving it will appreciate it more. I know the small trader will. Never forget the happy dance for every order received. I promise it happens.
